ABSTRACT

You might not think that your own life is particularly interesting. Or you might have taken the stance that you don’t want to do ‘personal journalism’ and want to keep your life and the lives of your friends and family separate from your journalism. That is fine, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t use their lives, and yours, as inspiration for articles that, once written, don’t have any specific links back to the stories, circumstances and situations that inspired them.
