ABSTRACT

This chapter launches the introduction and exploration of another dimension of the concept of a psychoanalytic field. Up to this point, specific ways of articulating specific kinds of psychoanalytic fields have been described. The theory and clinical application of the three models of psychoanalytic field theory have been discussed, compared, and critiqued. The foregoing discussion has been forward-looking in terms of highlighting open questions for each of the models as possible avenues for future investigation. The discussion has also been aimed at looking ahead in its descriptions of clinical technique that can be implemented in new contexts.
