ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book presents the dissident bodies and the English translation as a mediating tongue. It shows the Japanese translations and performances of plays by First Nations playwright Tomson Highway and Aboriginal playwright Roger Bennett speak of and to how colonized peoples who have had little chance/desire to see themselves reflected in the power structure have taken advantage of transglobal communication/travel to other ends/identities.
