ABSTRACT
The previous chapter explored the manner in which relations between law, science and society at large may be discursively projected in the course of delib erations over new forensic technology. In doing so, Chapter 6 drew attention to the way in which processes through which forensic stakeholders come to know technology may affect relations within and between legal and scientific commu nities. This chapter moves on to further consider the issue of emerging forensic technology, with greater focus on how the wider societal impact of such develop ments may be comprehended. This includes a focus on the perceived ethical implications of forensic DNA technologies.
