While there are overarching and unifying themes that underlie all considerations of sustainability and the built environment, an individual intervention must address the specifics of place and time in order to be sustainable in that particular context. Such considerations in the context of the world’s least developed regions (LDRs) are fundamentally different from those of the more economically developed regions of the world.
