ABSTRACT
Parsons' analysis of learning and socialization is of central importance to his account of society, for it is through socialization that a society's patterns of meaning are passed on to new members. His analysis of the mother-child interaction is built in terms of the ego-alter core case discussed in chapter 4 and the FDs and PVs as presented in chapter 5.
