ABSTRACT
The author highlights the coincidence in which the timing of the eruption of the complex was in part determined by external events. The use of the word 'shadow' provides a very neat link to the next structure within the personal unconscious and that is the shadow. That shadow figures show up in creative literary works ought not be too surprising, since true creative work springs from the unconscious mind, very often it simply represents the writer's, or painter's or musician's unconscious content. The shadow figure can also appear in dreams as a sibling and the following dream indicates this very well. However, the important point to know for our present context is that the fairytale quite deliberately from the outset deals with both good and bad, that is with shadow aspects. The chapter discusses the final structure of personal unconscious.
