The “Thinkability” of the Cinema: Is It Art or Is It a Business?

The first public film show took place at the Cinématographe Lumière on 28 December 1895, and is usually said to mark the birth of cinema, with brothers Louis and Auguste Lumière of Lyon taking the credit for its invention.
