ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book outlines several concluding perspectives, referring, first, to both action and actors in the light of transitions in spaces of action, and, second, referring to the changing significance of time at times of transforming action spaces. Comparing real and virtual spaces in their basic dimensions of organization, movement, and users, followed by a comparison of the practical relations of these two spaces. A special relationship of escape from physical to virtual space has been brought about by social networking, and this kind of escape is similar to the escape from daily routines offered by tourism in real space, through temporary travel to other places. The frequent and even addicted use of network platforms by networked subscribers yet another reflection of this diminishing of the dimension of time.
