ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the need to consider thinking about in relation to your lesson plan. It explores a short discussion about 'mediated action' drawn from the work of James Wertsch. Use frameworks like Wertsch's mediated action helps interrogate your own thinking about a particular resource and what it might be able to facilitate within your work. The chapter considers three very important areas of classroom resources that you will need to consider in your lesson planning, they include: digital technologies, classroom displays, other adults who may be in your classroom. The use of digital technologies is probably the fastest area of expansion in relation to this discussion of resources and their use within classrooms. The provision of classroom displays is an integral part of creating a positive environment for teaching and learning within your classroom. There are many other adults, who may be found working in classrooms today. Parents can be a valuable resource, particularly in the primary school.
