ABSTRACT
Chapter 4 – cities. This chapter starts with a landscape overview – a System-Mapping of challenges, and a Scenario-Mapping of trends and trajectories. Then we arrive on the streets of the Neighbourhood-III and look for shelter in the Housing-III . Sooner or later this needs improvement or adaptation with a Retrofit-III . For success we have to work with the larger patterns of the City-Region-III , along with the chaos and sprawl of the Anti-City-Region-III . All this calls for new kinds of planning and design in Civic-Design-III . Finally we go to larger cycles and likely pathways for both development and regeneration, summed up as Cities-III .
