ABSTRACT
Active euthanasia involves an actual act of mercy killing. For example, if a doctor decides that it is in the patient’s best interest that they die, and so kills them for that reason, this is active euthanasia. This may be done by lethal injection by another person, but the patient would not die as quickly on their own. It is illegal in this country and many others.
