ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the older gods in world traditions which might amplify the data that co-researchers offered. These are the themes that co-researchers identified put alongside archetypal themes understood to be expressed by the gods. Also, the current relationship of the church and spirituality with sports and soccer can be usefully explored to see what cultural conditions are at the time, and what belongs to the realm of the transpersonal, timeless meaning. The chapter discusses the historical antecedents regarding heroes, including the anti-hero and the differences between the two. Current cultural ideas about what constitutes a hero will be explored, and if that has changed over time. The US Youth Soccer Show on the Fox Soccer Channel (USYSS) is a program aimed at a younger audience, who has an interest in soccer, including magazine items relating to tournaments and developments for youth soccer across the country. The chapter also explores the nature of the anti-hero and unconscious predator.
