ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the questions that how can Internet search engines, multilingual sites and databases of previously done translations helps the people to edit and revise and will they can revise/edit on screen or on paper and how can word processors help with editing and revision. Checking terminology and phraseology is rather different from checking idiomaticity. For comparative re-reading work, side-by-side viewing of source text and translation is impractical unless you have a very wide screen, because you will not be able to see full lines of text without horizontal scrolling. Solving this problem by using two screens may clutter your workspace, or be unaffordable. Most of the functions useful to editors and revisers can be found under the Review tab of the Word 2007 interface. To set preferences for functions, click on the Windows icon at the top left and choose Word Options at the bottom of the menu.
