ABSTRACT

Heather shouts for me to open the door. I walk in and drop my bag to hug her mom, Marie, hello. I walk into the kitchen and see Heather, wearing a new v-neck t-shirt with a stylized Cleveland Browns logo. She points me toward the snacks on the table, including a Cleveland Browns chip bowl that I fill with kettle corn. The snack/food area is covered in brown and orange, including colored napkins and plates. The rest of Heather’s family say hi, including her Aunt Patty, Uncle Don, and cousin Carmel. Most are wearing some variation of Browns clothing, ready to watch the away game starting in about an hour. Uncle Don is the only man upstairs; Heather’s husband and young sons are down in the basement playing video games. I grab a drink and a plate, load up on some food, and we start talking football.
