ABSTRACT
Textiles technology is usually taught as part of the design and technology curriculum,
although in some schools you will find that textiles is also, or instead, taught within art and
design. Increasingly schools are establishing faculties of creative technology where art
and design and technology are taught alongside each other and textiles will sometimes
appear in both areas of the curriculum. There are some similarities in the teaching in
these two areas, for example both will use primary and secondary sources for inspiration
in designing and they will use similar, if not the same, techniques to produce an article.
