ABSTRACT
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts discussed in preceding chapters of this book. The book discusses the nagging dissatisfaction with the current state of universities. There has been little evidence to suggest that digital technology offers any sort of silver bullet to the many problems and shortfalls within contemporary higher education. This is not to dismiss digital technology out of hand, but reaching the conclusion that there is much wrong with the uses of digital technology within higher education should not come as a particular surprise. Any successful people's computer or organically developed software application is likely to soon face the shaping forces and structures that have pervaded this book. One of the key ways in which the physical and material aspects of the university could be rethought is to better draw attention to the technologies that are being used within them.
