ABSTRACT
This chapter shows that partner sexual violence takes a broad range of forms, but there still exists a lack of knowledge about the seriousness of and the damage caused by such violence. Some have argued that partner sexual violence, or intimate partner sexual violence (IPSV) to which it is sometimes abbreviated, has fallen through a gap in terms of the attention and it receives as a crime that occurs where the work of domestic violence and sexual violence practitioners intersects. The chapter considers the range of different forms that sexual violence by partners might take the associated criminal offences and then some of the myths and problems that women on whom sexual violence is perpetrated by a partner might face explores that most domestic violence relationships involve some form of sexual violence. It explores that significant progress still needs to be made in developing responses to partner sexual violence.
