For many, a few words of apology are all they will get from a state that stole years from them. These inadequate words reveal a lot about the criminal justice system. Wrongful convictions often result from the unlikelihood of stopping an erroneous course once it builds steam. Like the train that has

As in all human experience, if many people agree that the course is correct, a lone skeptic is reluctant to express reservations, and he or she may not have the proof, ability, time, or authorization to try to find the truth.
