ABSTRACT

This chapter considers the ways therapists know when movement into the late phase of treatment is indicated, strategies to achieve the aims of relapse prevention, and ways to wind down the course of treatment. A quantitative indicator that the client is ready to move into the late phase of treatment is sustained low scores obtained during the brief mood check. The consolidation of learning refers to the process by which clients articulate the skills that they have acquired and the cognitive behavioral principles that underlie the rationale for the use. The Relapse Prevention Plan will only be helpful if clients are able to use them in times of need. Some clients keep it with their other therapy materials. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a treatment that is characterized by three distinct phases: an early phase, a middle phase, and a late phase. Lyla scheduled a booster session three months after the completion of her treatment.
