ABSTRACT

Roberta Carreri is one of acclaimed theatre company Odin Teatret's longest-serving actors, and the last to be trained by Eugenio Barba himself. In this book, she relives the milestones of her professional journey, including: her first experiences of street theatre. After the creation of The Whispering Winds in Theatre and Dance, a demonstration in which she collaborated with Jan Ferslev and which was presented at the Copenhagen ISTA, both Jan and author wanted to pursue the story of the character that had emerged in the process. Eugenio gathered all the actors in his office to tell them the theme of the new group performance, the one which eventually became Andersen's Dream. Like the performances that Eugenio creates with the group, Salt had its origins in a theme, the one about nostalgia which Jan and the author had explored together as had been the case with Judith whose theme was found by Eugenio only a month before the premiere.
