ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a narrative about Anthony Constantino who is a 38-year-old man from Los Angeles, California. Anthony explores his journey into education framed in a rich and densely storied format. His narrative takes a postmodern approach in thinking about understanding people and society generally. The brief story he tells is integrated by social and cultural stories, all of which are expressed in his discussions of self. There were several factors that served as his motivation to enter the social work field. His goal now is to increase education of humans in general, to reduce the rate of childbirth, to minimize the amount of children unwillingly brought into a world of misery and suffering, to minimize the suffering of living beings as much as possible. He supports the principle of advancing the human race through the reduction of oppression, poverty, suffering, and other social ills.
