ABSTRACT

A site plan is a very simple sketch of the shape of the site and the features within it. Activity zoning is a way of designating different areas in the site to different activities. Consider screening off an area which is only used by infants when planning activity zones. Activity zoning provides sheltered areas for infants and space for more physical activities for older children during the same session. It makes a plain-looking site more enticing and exciting. Check whether one can leave specific resources and equipment on site, or locked up in the main building with the site representative. A site with limited storage facilities or none at all can still be used, but one will need to use the own garage or car boot to compensate. Be prepared to discuss the roles and responsibilities of maintaining the site and access to it, to ensure that you all agree and understand, this will prevent minor misunderstandings becoming diplomatic incidents.
