This chapter moves now to think about what you can expect during our first term in post Here's the big thing then, when we start in our new post, the first term, and probably the entire first year, will be a transition period. To begin with, we should find ourself part of two induction processes. The second induction process is a legal responsibility all schools have and is the final part of our training, allowing us to receive full accreditation as a teacher. Ask our head of department or mentor to help us with this, if it has not already been explained in the school induction. The average secondary school will have around 80-150 employees, depending on its location and the amount of funding it receives. Certain legal requirements exist pertaining to what should be covered as part of the induction process. We can find the details online or by speaking to our union.
