ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on Multi-Pass rendering for post-production using CINEWARE. Rendering a CINEMA 4D Lite scene is accomplished through the CINEWARE plug-in in After Effects. CINEWARE produces a 2D image in higher quality than what the viewport can display. Rendering times can vary greatly. Simple scenes will take a few seconds to calculate. Scenes that employ highly detailed models, surface materials with reflections, and area lights and shadows, may take hours depending on the hardware used. The quality and time it takes to render the final image is controlled through the Render Settings. With the Multi-Pass rendering set up to render individual image layers. An object buffer creates a mask layer for an object. This is ideal for isolating certain models in a 3D scene for post-production. A specific ID number is assigned to each object buffer.
