ABSTRACT
This lesson teaches children how to say “No” and speak up when something doesn’t feel right. The purpose of this lesson is to help children discriminate between promises, secrets and surprises. An additional theme highlights that not all promises, secrets and surprises are necessarily bad, but there are ways to tell the good from the bad. We alert children that they have our permission to stay safe, and show them how to do this assertively.
