ABSTRACT
Before you start to plan out a costume, look at your puppet and deter-mine its characteristics, as well as what will be required of it and its costume. You’ll find that different types of costuming and construction techniques will be needed for different types of puppets. How much will your
puppet be required to move? Will any part of its costume actually need to be
functional? How much of a costume do you really need? These factors, along
with the type of puppet you have-hand/rod, marionette-will all determine
what goes into making your puppet’s costume.
