ABSTRACT

This book’s objective has been to examine the first 50 years of Spanish-language television development in the United States through an integrated approach enveloping the business, legal/regulatory, technological, demographic and political forces that have influenced the industry and which, in turn, it has impacted. Observing the industry’s growth in this comprehensive way reveals the complexity of related factors that have increased Hispanics’ impact on U.S. society during the early decades of the 21st century. These last few pages pull together salient themes from the chapters.
