ABSTRACT

This chapter summarizes the previous chapters from State Crime, Women and Gender in an effort to connect the dots and provide some concluding thoughts. After addressing some of the limitations of this book a call for other scholars to engage in a more in-depth problematizing of the complex and widespread issue of state-perpetrated gender-based violence is included. This necessarily involves some suggested directions for approaching the problem of state-perpetrated gender-based violence that extends beyond the narrow focus of legislative change and looks to reiterate the importance of recognizing voices outside of the Global North-dominated ideals of justice.
