ABSTRACT

This chapter covers how to interact with each of very important stakeholders within the first few weeks of finishing a design studio. Participation is the single greatest way to achieve buy-in. An easy way to get buy-in from customers, executives, and a product team is to include them in the design studio. The best marketing comes from converting a skeptical person into a believer. It is necessary to involve the product team to obtain their feedback and gain their support after completing the design studio. The timing of the team's involvement occurs in very distinct intervals such as designing the mockup and refining your concept. The final sketch from a design studio is completely worthless without executive buy-in. The chapter reviews a sample presentation based upon the light bulb widget created for World Usability Day. The single best way to sell your vision to a customer is to include them in your product's development.
