ABSTRACT

This chapter presents importance of storing work to revisit previous ideas when another one does not work. Product manager should have hardcopy sketches. Historian takes photos of all of the sketches during the design studio and stores the photos in a location where all of the participants can access them from a work device. A storage location is created before people evaluate the sketches based on the best practices provided. A best judgment is made on when and how to share access to digital sketches. This is done by creating high-fidelity mockup and presentation before giving access to others. All participants from the design studio should have access immediately to the photos. Leonardo da Vinci produced over 13,000 pages of sketches in his lifetime. So it is possible to design like da Vinci by re-visiting the work. Now-a-days smartphones have cameras. Network speed makes downloading pictures very fast, too. Pinterest, Instagram, and Flickr offer quick ways to store photos.
