ABSTRACT

Flow, an applicable term in many scientific fields, can be used to describe any dynamic and fluid system. As it relates to understanding a site, the concept of flow is particularly relevant to natural forces, such as wind, water, and time, and to the forces of movement and trajectories of people or objects in space. These forces, because of their dynamic nature, are difficult to precisely articulate in the static world of representation, but their impact can be overwhelming and even life-threatening.
