ABSTRACT
There are many works available which describe the design of ships, in all its aspects. These cover hydrodynamics, structures, arrangements at all stages from the preliminary work through to detail. The purpose here is not to consider these elements, but rather to overview the whole process of design, and particularly how it interfaces with the rest of the business.
