ABSTRACT
Hiding words encourages discussion, prediction and, most importantly, thought regarding any chosen text. This activity is a variation on the classic ‘missing word’ task but the use of an IWB enhances the exercise and has practical advantages for learning, not least the fact that it enables the whole class to collaborate on one text at the same time, sharing ideas and developing understanding.
