ABSTRACT
The pill box hat was popularized in the United States in the early 1960s by the First Lady, Jacqueline Kennedy. This simple, understated style has no brim, a simple cylindrical shape, and little to no trim. The pill box could be made of blocked felt, straw, or a stiffened base, such as buckram, covered with fabric.
