ABSTRACT
In this chapter we spotlight people's belief in the potential for change. Although the belief about the potential for change is at the heart of the entity-incremental distinction (and is indeed the definition of the incremental versus entity theory), there were still questions to be answered about the basis and the consequences of these beliefs.
