ABSTRACT
The following areas of prevention are central:
primary prevention – to forestall the occurrence of an illness
secondary prevention – to shorten the duration of illness and ensure treatment effective and
tertiary prevention – to prevent or reduce further manifestations of the illness, that is to say, rehabilitation.
In serious and disabling psychotic illnesses the preventative aspect of every phase of the illness is of the utmost importance.
