ABSTRACT

Psychosis is a phenomenological-psychological concept. There is neither a biological definition covering the term, nor is there a specific biological ‘marker’ for psychosis. Every attempt to find a neurophysiological correlate has been unsuccessful. Through the phenomenology of psychosis, in this chapter we will try to come closer to the psychology of psychosis. (Phenomenological approaches are where attempts are made to describe phenomena and subjective descriptions of experience without using theoretical conceptualisations.)
