ABSTRACT

This chapter begins with the challenges of the Crompton family—four wonderful people whom the author first met in family counseling. A crisis struck one of the Crompton children. Many are men and women who accepted the crisis of a loved one as the invitation to lead their family on an exodus from stagnation to growth and adventure. Is it any wonder that the Cromptons will require heroism to understand the miracle hidden within their family’s crisis? For the Cromptons, the call came through a small voice. That Emily and Charles Crompton have grown insensitive, and perhaps deaf, to the guiding voice of their spirits can be seen in their lack of personal excitement, the dreary state of their lives together, their inability to nourish each family member, and their fear to look within. If the Cromptons’ dragons roam unobstructed, the family will remain imprisoned.
