ABSTRACT

A plan is essential to guide the production of computer-assisted instruction lessons. The Three-Phase Plan, embracing the Ripple Plan, is a design procedure specifically for computer-presented instruction. Formulate and follow a plan for generating a lesson to increase the probability of reaching reader goal, which is to develop a finished lesson. A plan can save time and make lesson production more efficient by avoiding aimless procedures. In the analogy of the vacationing motorist, there are many routes to a given destination. When planning a lesson, try to anticipate environmental factors. Try to determine what equipment will be available, such as brand of computer, color or monochrome monitors, and touch devices. Students will study the lesson outside of the regularly scheduled class, in a computer classroom. All monitors are monochrome. There are no touch devices. Students will have as much time to complete the lesson as they need.
