ABSTRACT
Twenty years ago, black men and families were on track in terms of marriage rates, college attendance, and access to jobs that paid living wages. This fact provided some hope that our nation would unite without differences based on race. Over the last twenty years, however, much of that dream has been dashed as living-wage jobs have fallen out of the reach of a growing number of blacks.
