ABSTRACT
In many parts of the world, newly qualified teachers are allocated posts. That is, they are told which school they are to work in and have no choice. If you are in such a position, you are perhaps fortunate in that you know you will have work and you have fewer decisions to make. And this chapter is not for you! If, on the other hand, you are in a similar position to those student teachers in our research study and need to search out, apply and compete for vacant posts, the insights from our research participants' experiences may help you in making this next set of important decisions and preparations, which can lead to you being able to find and secure the best job for you.
