ABSTRACT
This section on homeless youth reviews the literature on the population of young people who are characterized as being without stable living situations, including runaways, throwaways, push-outs, system kids, street kids, and unaccompanied youth. There is no consensus on a definition of homelessness for youth. The studies reviewed cover samples which include youth who are newly homeless, sporadically homeless, and chronically homeless through a variety of paths.
