Data Analysis, Findings, and Discussion book
This chapter reports and analyzes the results of the bivariate and multivariate analyses of factors influencing the adoption of telemedicine. While the bivariate analyses are informative, they represent exploratory rather than explanatory research: They probe relationships and suggest directions of thought. The multivariate analysis, or diffusion modeling, tells a more reliable story about the factors that influence the adoption of telemedicine. The multivariate analysis examines all the theoretically relevant relationships simultaneously, controlling for interrelationships between variables. In this chapter, the bivariate analyses are reported first, laying the groundwork for the multivariate analysis. The results of the diffusion modeling are reported next, including tests for goodness of fit. After reporting, explaining, and scrutinizing the model and the results it produced, this chapter briefly discusses these results.
