have the consequence that the charterers are subsequently found to have paid the owners in advance for time during which the ship was off-hire under Clause 15. Likewise, it sometimes happens that a ship is redelivered earlier than was expected when the last instalment of hire was paid, so that more hire is paid in advance than is eventually earned (as to ‘‘earned’’ here, see paragraphs 16.13 et seq., below).
