This chapter is divided into two sections: First, there is a short intro duc tion to the English law of contract, giving an indic a tion of
some of the main issues that arise for discus sion in subsequent chapters. The second section under takes a more thor ough analysis of some of the theor et ical issues that arise in discuss ing contract law.
