ABSTRACT

Children who were traumatized in early childhood may have various symptoms. The degree of stability they have achieved may also vary considerably. It is unnecessary for all these children to go through a complete stabilization phase with the help of the six tests. The goal is to start trauma processing as soon as possible. So if a child is sufficiently stable, the stabilization phase is skipped. The six tests are only used when there is doubt about the stability of the child. Or when it is clear that the child is too unstable for trauma processing. The six tests are always used for children with a dissociative disorder or trauma-related conversion. The six tests can also be used when the treatment stagnates; the six tests then serve to analyse what factors are stalling the treatment.
