ABSTRACT

As an aid to confidence, it is important to maintain as positive a mental attitude as you can when you have an audition. This can be especially hard when you have not worked in a while, not had many auditions or those you have been to have not resulted in offers. Positivity is vital when projecting yourself to others — in person, on the telephone and even when writing — but no matter how you are feeling that day, there is always hope, so smile and go for it. Keeping motivated and having a sense of purpose will help you greatly. If you are having a quiet time, remember that auditions can be like buses — nothing for ages and then several may come along at once. The same sometimes also applies to jobs, and often when you least expect it.
