ABSTRACT

I remember the desk in elementary school. It made a perfect drum set with its metal body and wooden top. e hinged top, when open, gave access to the storage compartment where books, papers, and rulers could be kept. When the top was down it became part of three distinct sounds; one on the metal body, another on the large part of the wooden top, and one more on the smaller wooden part, where there was usually a groove for a pencil or two and a round hole where an inkwell could be placed.
