ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in this book. This book allows reader to access the wisdom of Ian's original Essential Motivation in the Classroom in accessible little chunks that they can sprinkle, blend or otherwise smoosh into their daily classroom activities. Causing others to learn stuff is a magic mix of art and science; knowledge is a balance between facts and creativity and the way teachers learn uses both logic and imagination but the essential factor that cannot be replaced is reader. No book contains the elusive secret or silver bullet that flicks the motivation switch on in those pesky kids. However, A Teacher's Companion to Essential Motivation in the Classroom has a trick up its sleeve that ensures that things are done a little differently. At the end of each chapter reader will find the practical materials which they are invited to use in their class, in their school and on thereself.
